Title:
Clonmacnois Monastary
Location:
Leinster shore of the Shannon River, County Offaly, Ireland
Founded by St. Ciaran in 545 AD, the Book of the Dun Cow was written by monks here around 1100 and the last high king of Ireland, Rory O'Connor was buried here in 1198. I may have named my son after him as I knew of him and always loved the name Rory (the Red King).
