The
impressive Saint Mawes Castle is one of the finest examples
of Tudor military architecture and was built by Henry
VIII between 1539 and 1545 along with it's larger sister
castle, Pendennis. They were built as part of a defensivea
chain of fortresses to protect the south coast of England. |
