Small group tours of Scotland in September 2010
Announcing the first Celtic Wandering small group tour of Scotland in September of 2010! We are considering two options and also considering October as a possible time for the tour!
The first is a 14 day tour with our driver/tour guide native Scot Andy Laing and his border collie Sweep. We will explore the Highlands and Islands. This tour starts with a few days in Edinburgh and then we do some island hopping to the Inner and Outer Hebrides. Starting in the Inner Hebrides with Islay, Mull and Iona. Then to the Outer Hebrides landing in the Uists then up to Harris & Lewis. From there back to the Isle of Skye and tour through Wester Ross ending in Ullapool, where Andy lives. If enough folks are interested we will extend the tour from 14 to 18 days and explore Easter Ross and Moray where Andy is from!
The second tour would be for 18 days but staying in two areas a week at a time. We will use each area as our base camp and go exploring each day. The first would be staying in Argyll and doing some day trips to the Inner Hebrides, most likely Islay ,Mull and Iona! And then on our last week we would be staying in Wester Ross in the Ullapool area. Also doing day trips and then spending a few days in the islands of Harris and Lewis in the Outer Hebrides.
This is not a photography tour but I'll have my camera's and you should too! I will be more than happy to give free tips on this trip! This will be a small group tour of 3-6 not counting myslf and Andy & Sweep. Being a small group tour we will have a more flexible itinerary and will often go off-the-beaten track to see the real Scotland that only a native like Andy knows! We will explore the land and it's people, visit ancient sites, castles and more!
